Dr. Theresa Mannah-Blankson is a professional economist with a combination of over ten years of experience working within the policy arena and academia. Currently, she is a teaching professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) in the USA. Before joining UNCC in August 2019, she taught at Messiah University in Pennsylvania for three years as an Assistant Professor of Economics. Theresa also worked for over five years as a macro-economist at the Bank of Ghana, reporting directly to the Monetary Policy Committee from 2004 to 2010. At the Bank of Ghana, Theresa was involved in economic policy and development initiatives, playing a pivotal role in the development of the framework for financial sector stability analysis of the Ghanaian financial system.

She has served in many other consultancy roles in economic development and is currently a Consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) financing. Her expertise ranges from debt sustainability, gender inequality, bureaucratic corruption, and financial sector policies and their impact on households and economic development in the Global South.   Dr. Mannah-Blankson received her Ph.D. and MA in Economics in 2016 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA.

She also holds an MPhil in Economics and a BA in Economics and Management from the University of Ghana, Legon.   Theresa has a commitment to improving the lives of the marginalized in society using her research work and her involvement with organizations equally committed to such causes. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Osei-Kusi Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to holistic youth development with a special focus on educational scholarships for young people. Theresa lives in the United States with her family. She enjoys reading, blogging, traveling, and cooking.
