Philip Delali Zumanu is a professional trainer with over 10 years training and consulting experience across many sectors including Pensions, Financial, Public Sector, Education, NGO, Media, among others. Currently an independent consultant with expertise in Organisational Change Management, Corporate Governance and Strategy, Financial Management, Operations Management, Project Execution and Economic Research. He was one of the consultants engaged by the World Bank to develop the Capital Markets Master Plan for the Ministry of Finance and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
As an independent consultant, he has provided services to the National Insurance Commission, CalBank Gh Ltd., GCB Securities Ltd., a subsidiary of GCB Bank Ltd., Ghana Water Company Ltd., and Ministry of Finance among others. Before going into independent consulting, Dela served as the CEO of Pensions Alliance Trust Ltd, one of the leading Pensions companies in Ghana, whose clients included Ghana Revenue Authority, Agricultural Development Bank, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Ghana Education Service and Microsoft. He managed pensions funds in excess of GHC 350 Million.
Dela spearheaded the comprehensive re-organisation of the company and the launch of a new strategic direction of the organisation and was also involved in leading the company to deliver quality service to clients. Dela was the independent secretary to the Management Board of the National Mortgage and Housing Finance Initiative, a lead member of the implementation committee and now the acting coordinator under whose leadership the entity delivered a model gated affordable enclave at Tema. Dela was contracted by the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geographical Information System (LISGIS) under a World Bank sponsored project to offer training in Spatial Statistics and Data Analysis as part of the Ebola epidemic management strategy. He has trained the staff of the Ministry of Finance in research methods for policy decision making.
He has also been involved in organisational re-structuring exercises with considerable success with starts-ups. As a mathematics curriculum expert, Dela was involved in the development of mathematics syllabus for the basic level and has also served as an evaluator for mathematics textbooks for the Ministry of Education. He has in the past written scripts, edited manuals and presented lessons on JHS Mathematics on television for the Presidential Special Initiative on Distance Learning (PSI-DL). Dela has also taught courses in Strategic Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Quantitative Methods for Decision Making, Organisational Change and Development among others at the Zenith University College.
He is currently an adjunct lecturer in Leadership at Ashesi University. Again, Dela was previously the host of Talking Point on Ghana Television (GTV) and a radio talk show host. Dela’s educational qualifications include a Master of Education (Administration) and a Master of Commerce (Taxation) degrees. Additionally, he has a Bachelor of Education degree in Mathematics from the University of Cape Coast and currently pursuing a PHD in Adult Education and Human Resources Studies at the University of Ghana. Dela serves on the boards of Galaxy Money Market Fund and GCB Real Estate Investment Trust Plc (REIT).
