Theodore Albright
Council Member

Theodore is a transformational and progressive leader with varied multinational career experiences across two continents. As a dual-qualified legal practitioner, he is an original thinker with a passion for seeking elegant solutions to intractable problems. He has over two decades of extensive experience in general legal and corporate work including corporate acquisitions, private equity, banking, property, tax and trust transactions; having worked in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Africa.

Theodore has worked as part of a team alongside “Magic Circle Law Firms” in negotiating, drafting documentation and closing a host of transactions valued at several billions of Dollars. In his previous roles as Head of Legal and Company Secretary for Opportunity International and Vodafone Ghana, he had responsibility for liaising with regulatory bodies such as the Central Bank, Companies Registry, National Communications Authority (NCA) and Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC); ensuring compliance with share, regulatory, legal and fiscal obligations.

Prior to working for Vodafone Ghana and Opportunity International, Theodore worked as Solicitor for some of the largest offshore law firms in the Channel Islands including Carey Olsen and Collas Day Advocates in Guernsey. He also worked for some reputable legal firms in the United Kingdom and led the Lewisham Law Centre. In his current role as Managing Consultant for the Family Office Africa, he has overall governance responsibility for the multidisciplinary consulting firm, which specialises in Communications, Strategy, Legal Advice and Cybersecurity for some of the progressive multinational and individual corporates in sub-Saharan Africa.

Theodore holds an LLB degree in Law, a BL from the Ghana School of Law; and an MBA from University of Manchester. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership with a focus on “the quest for meaning and happiness”. Theodore is also a qualified Certified Trust and Estate Practitioner with a Postgraduate Diploma in Risk and Compliance from the University of Manchester, via the International Compliance Association. He sits on numerous boards and was also previously the Vice President of the Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies.
