Stephen Kemetse is an experienced Digital Transaction Banker and financial systems specialist with over 20 years of experience in Financial Inclusion, Payments, Financial Technology (Fintech), Product Management, Cash Management, Public Financial Management and Banking Operations across West Africa. He is the Managing Partner of Payplus Africa, a digital finance company delivering innovative products and advisory services in the Ghanaian market, with planned expansion into other African markets.

Through Payplus Africa, Stephen designs and implements solutions that transform customer engagement, reduce operational cost, automate and improve processes, and provide executive-level visibility of treasury and financial management. He has deep expertise in solution structuring, implementation and delivery of financial services, with current work spanning supply chain finance and the GIZ-supported BioMaT programme, where he serves as financial sustainability lead developing the governance and sustainability framework for Ghana’s vaccine and biomanufacturing training ecosystem.

Stephen is also Promoter and Managing Partner of Greyseed Farms. He serves as Council Lead, Operations & Finance at the Centre for Social Justice. Prior to his current roles, he was the Regional Head of Ecobank’s Global Transaction Banking business in Anglophone West Africa, where he led the sustained growth of transaction banking operations across Ghana and the wider region and oversaw enterprise payment ecosystems processing over USD 10 billion annually. He has been involved in several market-led digital banking infrastructure projects and reforms in Ghana and other African markets.

Stephen holds a Master of Business Administration from the GIMPA Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ghana. He holds a “Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française” from the French Ministry of Education, a Financial Technology certification from the HarvardX Program, and a Financial Accounting certification from Wharton.
